FERNWEH (noun, German)
An aching longing for distant places; a desire to travel somewhere far from home.
Some people get homesick. Fernweh is what happens when you get sick of being home.
This wonderfully expressive German word describes that restless longing for somewhere far away—the mountains you haven’t climbed, the cities you haven’t wandered, the roads you haven’t taken, and the places currently occupying far too much space in your travel plans.
The Fernweh Sweatshirt celebrates that irresistible pull toward somewhere else. Featuring a distinctive WordSmirk™ design, it’s made for travelers, wanderers, road-trippers, and anyone who has ever stared at a map and thought, “I should probably be over there.”
Wear it on chilly adventures, long flights, weekend escapes, road trips, airport mornings, or while planning a journey you absolutely do not need but are probably going to book anyway. It also makes a thoughtful gift for travel lovers, adventurers, hikers, frequent flyers, wanderlust enthusiasts, word lovers, and anyone fascinated by German words and beautifully untranslatable expressions.
Why you'll love it: Cozy everyday comfort, distinctive WordSmirk™ artwork, a beautiful German word with an instantly relatable meaning, and a conversation-starting design for people who are never completely satisfied staying in one place.
Fernweh: because sometimes the place you miss most is somewhere you haven’t been yet.

FIRST WE MAKE IT. THEN YOU STALK THE TRACKING.
Every WordSmirk™ item is made to order, which means your new favorite shirt or hoodie doesn’t actually exist yet. You buy it. We make it. Very existential.
Once your item has finished its journey from idea to actual thing you can wear, it ships.
Your shipping time is added on top of the production time and depends on the shipping method you selected at checkout.
So the basic equation is:
Production Time + Your Selected Shipping Time = “WHERE IS MY SHIRT?!”
Don’t worry. It’s coming.
Good words take a little time. Great ones come with tracking numbers.
Guessing your size is fun right up until the package arrives.
That’s why we provide a Size Guide on every product page. Simply click “Size Guide” next to the product size options to see the measurements before making any irreversible wardrobe decisions.
Measure yourself. Check the guide. Choose wisely.
Because “I’m pretty sure I’m a medium” is still not a recognized unit of measurement.
And remember: our products are made to order, so this is one of those rare occasions when size really does matter.
